Andrei was born in Nizhny Novgorod to the east of Moscow in 1960. He attended the Theatrical School there before being accepted as a student at the Academy of Fine Arts, St Petersburg in 1988.
He graduated with an honours degree in Fine Art in 1994 and was elected a member of the Russian Union of Artists in 1997. He has exhibited widely in Russia, successfully showing his work in the Union’s own gallery since 2003. In addition to this he has had solo exhibitions in Russia, France and Italy, as well as showing extensively in Germany, Monaco and Belgium.
He enjoys working in oil best, and his love of Klimt is evident. His heroines lightly tease from the canvas with their playful charm and high spirits. As well as being an excellent artist, Andrei is also Russia’s leading remote control pilot, and he flies his planes which have a 4 to 6 foot wing span, wearing a top hat.
